The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient towards you, now wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should reach repentance." - 2 Peter 3:9. I have been very blessed to have grown up in the church my whole life, surrounded by loving family and friends who taught me the gospel and continually showed their love for God. However, growing up in that environment did not guarantee that I would make my own conscious decision to devote myself to God. I had always known I should be baptized and become a Christian but it took me longer than it should have to act upon that feeling.

I am thankful that God was patient with me and how long it took me to devote myself to him. I was thinking about baptism for years but it took someone sitting down with me on a Sunday after church and asking me why I was waiting so long. After that day, I have never looked back and feel blessed that God was patient with me and wanted me to be saved. That time however, is not guaranteed. We do not know what tomorrow holds for us, and if we are contemplating our eternal salvation, there is no better time than today. "Yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes" - James 4:14
