It's not rocket science

Having been a NASA "rocket scientist" early in my work career, I continue to read published technical papers associated with the universe beyond Earth.  A week or two ago, one such article caught my attention.  The scientists, using data from the James Webb Space Telescope, have determined that the first light in the universe came from small, highly-energetic, low-mass galaxies that produced ionizing photons that ionized the universe during its formless, void state...

When reading this article, I was struck by the similarities to the very succinct account of creation in Genesis 1.  We know God created the heavens and the earth.  We know that the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep.  We know that the Sprit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.  And we know that out of this void, God said, "Let there be light."  And there was light.

Without commenting on or judging the science published in this article, there was no mention in this article as to how these "small, highly-energetic, low-mass galaxies" came into being.  From where did the protons and electrons come that managed to join together to create mass and to form hydrogen and then ultimately form these small galaxies?  From where did this "formless void" of non-ionized protons and electrons originate?

We know the answer to this.  It breaks the boundaries of logic to assume that creation created itself.  Thus, creation, by definition, must have a creator.  Something cannot come from nothing.  "In the beginning was the Word, and Word was with God, and the Word was God.  He was in the beginning with God.  All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him, nothing came into being that has come into being.  In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.  The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not overpower it."

When the universe - when the earth - was formless and void, the Word created light.  And here we are - children of this Light.  Our Creator made it all.  Starting with the creation of the heavens and the earth in a formless void, our Creator started things off with Light.  This is the One whom we serve - the One who confounds even the scientists of today with the simplicity of His Light.
